Danica performs superbly in Safety4Sea PSC scoreboard

Danica Crewing Specialists has performed superbly in the Top 10 PSC (Port State Control) scoreboard produced by to Safety4Sea, supplying crew to five of those 10 companies named.

Danica has a strict, holistic 12-stage process for all seafarers new to the company to ensure a quality and fully trained crew.

Danica not only checks qualifications and ensures the correct certificates are in place and confirms sea service and track records, but also goes deeper into the seafarer’s personality.

At Danica, we believe behaviour and leadership are equally crucial to having professional knowledge and experience. All the good experience and expertise are lost if a senior officer acts in a way that people do not respect.

Our screening procedure can also include an IQ test. People with a high IQ score have a greater ability to combine previous experiences to solve new problems. In a fast-changing world, this is
an important skill.

The personal touch and impressions are, of course, still important. The candidate will also need to pass an interview with a captain or chief engineer with experience on a relevant vessel. All our interviewers have passed training ininterview techniques, enabling them not only to determine a candidate’s knowledge and experience but also to verify the results of the tests.

Henrik Jensen, CEO and Founder of Danica Crewing Specialists, said: “Quality ships are, of course, the result of the owners’ commitment to providing proper support to the vessels and having systems in place. However, without having a professional crew on board, all these efforts are wasted.”
