Our team of 25+ crewing specialists, based across 8 countries, supports seafarers and clients 24/7, co-ordinating crew for more than 250 vessels worldwide.
The operations team is led by Danica’s Chief Operations Officer Denis Procenko who is based at our operation centre in Limassol, Cyprus. Denis, who joined Danica in 2022, has vast experience of international crew recruitment and operations gained from working at large blue-chip ship owning and ship management companies
Crewing operations may not be rocket science, but it is complex and highly detail-driven. Something as small as the wording in a guarantee letter for airport transit can stop a seafarer’s journey, for example. Choosing the right port for crew change also involves careful consideration of airfares, visa requirements, port agency fees, local transfers, and hotel costs.
Another key task is balancing vessel schedules with the availability and preferences of returning crew members which often requires negotiation skills that can feel closer to diplomacy than logistics (!)
Our crewing specialists also support families at home, assisting when issues arise while the seafarer is at sea.
